About HEIC
HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads use for photos by default (since iOS 11). It stores images with HEVC compression at about half the size of a JPG, but many websites, Windows PCs and older devices can’t open it.
About JPG
JPG (JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format. It uses lossy compression, which keeps files small, and it opens everywhere. It doesn’t support transparency.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser, on your own device. Your images are never sent to our servers, so it also works for private photos.
Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, but at 90% quality the difference is invisible to almost everyone. Lower the quality slider for smaller files.
Can I convert several HEIC files at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many files as you like, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.
Other conversions
Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. HEIC decoding uses heic2any (MIT), which includes libheif (LGPL-3.0).
