Make as many addition practice sheets as you need. Start with 1-digit facts, move to 2-digit sums without regrouping, then add carrying once place value is solid.
Tips for practicing
- Practice without regrouping first so children learn to add each column separately.
- When regrouping appears, have kids write the small "1" above the next column. It makes the carried ten visible.
- Ten problems done carefully beat forty done in a rush. Check accuracy before adding a timer.
