About AVIF
AVIF is a newer format built on the AV1 video codec. The files are even smaller than WebP, but many apps and older browsers can't open them yet.

Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your browser does the conversion on your own computer or phone, and the images never reach our servers. That makes it safe for private photos too.
Will converting AVIF to PNG reduce quality?
No. PNG is lossless, so the PNG keeps every pixel of the decoded AVIF image. The file may be larger.
